Although Flagstaff water consumption is good (108 gpcd overall & 86 gpcd residential) we know from experience that we can do much better. This is important because:
1. It extends the time until we need alternate supplies of potable water (either improved reclaimed water, or in the longer term Red Gap Ranch).
2. It slows the rate of growth of waste-water to the sewage treatment plants (hydraulic loading).
Although we have a long history of reducing our per-capita water use, we can do much better. The tools used to influence water usage include:
B. Rebates for water-saving appliances and other expenses
C. Regulations by the City of Flagstaff (watering on alternate days, etc)
